Refund Policy

How refunds work for Dijin subscriptions across the App Store and the Web.

Last updated: March 21, 2026

We want you to feel comfortable trying Dijin. This page explains how refunds work for each tier (Free, Pro, Developer) and each channel (Apple App Store IAP, Web checkout via Paddle as the Merchant of Record). If you have an issue we couldn't resolve, contact us before requesting a chargeback, most cases can be settled directly within a few hours.

1. Who is eligible for a refund

Refund eligibility depends on which channel processed your payment. Free plans incur no charge, so no refund is applicable. Paid subscriptions follow the rules below.

  • Web subscriptions (Pro annual, Developer monthly/annual) sold via Paddle, 14-day money-back from the original purchase date, no questions asked.
  • Apple App Store IAP subscriptions (Pro monthly on iOS/macOS), refunds are handled by Apple, not Dijin. Use Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Renewal charges (auto-renewed annual or monthly) are eligible for refund within 14 days of the renewal date on Web; Apple sets its own rules for App Store renewals.
  • Refunds requested after the 14-day window are reviewed case-by-case for billing errors, duplicate charges, or service incidents.

3. Web subscriptions via Paddle

Web purchases (Pro annual and Developer plans) are processed by Paddle.com inc, which acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR). Paddle issues the receipt, collects local taxes (VAT/GST/sales tax), and processes any refund on Dijin's behalf.

  • Within 14 days of purchase: full refund of the most recent charge, processed by Paddle to your original payment method.
  • After 14 days, monthly subscriptions are not refundable for the current period but can be cancelled for the next cycle.
  • After 14 days, annual subscriptions are not pro-rated unless required by your local consumer-protection law (EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal is honored).
  • Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of approval.

4. Developer plan and API usage

The Developer plan grants MCP API access (monthly request quota). Refunds within the 14-day window are full and unconditional regardless of API usage.

  • If API quota has been heavily consumed (more than 50% in the first 14 days), we may offer a partial credit instead of a full refund, by mutual agreement only.
  • After 14 days, the plan can be cancelled at any time; API access continues through the end of the paid period.
  • API keys are revoked when the subscription expires, but your memory archive remains accessible from the iOS/macOS app and via DMF export.

5. When refunds are not granted

We aim to be generous, but a small number of cases fall outside the refund policy to protect the service for all users.

  • Violations of the Acceptable Use Policy, accounts terminated for abuse are not eligible for refund of the current period.
  • Charges older than 60 days from the original payment date, except where required by local consumer law.
  • Chargebacks initiated through your bank or card issuer without first contacting us, please reach out at [email protected] so we can resolve it directly.

6. Your data after a refund

A refund cancels your paid subscription but does not delete your account or your memory. Your memory, notes and DMF archive remain yours.

  • Your account reverts to the Free tier (recent-memory access).
  • You can export your full memory at any time as a signed DMF archive (Settings → Export Memory).
  • If you want a full account deletion in addition to the refund, see our GDPR / KVKK page or use Settings → Delete Account inside the app.

7. How to request a refund

Web subscriptions: email [email protected] from the address on file. Apple IAP: use Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com (see Section 2). Include the information below to speed up the review.

  • Your account email (the one on file with Dijin).
  • The charge date and amount, and your Paddle receipt number if available.
  • A brief reason, billing error, accidental purchase, not satisfied, duplicate charge, etc. (No detailed justification required within the 14-day window.)
  • Typical response time: within 1 business day. Refund processing by Paddle then takes 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

8. Statutory consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights you have under your local consumer-protection law. EU/UK customers benefit from the 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive; Turkish customers benefit from rights under the Tüketicinin Korunması Hakkında Kanun (Law No. 6502). Where local law grants a wider refund right than this policy, the wider right applies.
